Lionsgate has put a replica of the Bandits Technical SUV featured in “Borderlands” up for auction. The vehicle is being used in a promotional tour for the film including stops at San Diego Comic-Con and a Los Angeles special fan event. Proceeds from its sale will benefit the 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization Shark Allies.

The Bandits Technical Vehicle
This model is based on the car driven by Roland (Kevin Hart) and ClapTrap (voiced by Jack Black) in the live-action movie adaptation. It is an automatic 2012 Chevrolet Suburban SUV that can fit a party of four. It is in used condition with 190,000 miles on the odometer.
“There are a few electronics added to the interior of the car,” the listing reads. “There is a custom GPS and driver screen. Both are designed to fit the look and feel of Borderlands. These are made to be removable if someone wishes, but they add to the aesthetics of the interior as well as provide an extended experience beyond just what’s on the outside.”

Shark Allies
This “Borderlands” SUV is being auctioned off to benefit Shark Allies, which was established in Hawaii in 2007. Its main goal is to advocate against the widespread killing of sharks and educate the public about these often misunderstood creatures.
In 2021, “Borderlands” director Eli Roth made the documentary “Fin.” The film has Roth with a professional group of scientists, researchers, and activists sailing around the globe to unveil the truth behind the death of millions of sharks. Three years after the film’s release he is still a vocal advocate and a friend to sharks.
The Bandits Technical vehicle auction ends on August 13th. At the time of this writing, bidding sits at $5,750. However, it is expected to go as high as $10,000. You can check out the auction here.
“Borderlands” hits theaters on August 9th.
