    “The Boys” Eric Kripke ‘Fully Intends’ to do “Star Wars” Project

    It was confirmed earlier this month that Prime Video’s hit series “The Boys” will end with its upcoming 5th season. This has started an avalanche of rumors as to what everyoness next projects will be. Showrunner Eric Kripke has never hidden how much he loves “Star Wars,” and has expressed interest in developing a project in a galaxy far, far away.

    When Kripke sat down with Rolling Stone he described himself as a “lifelong Star Wars fan.” The interviewer also noted the replica of Han Solo’s blaster in his office. The writer/director even confessed that he based Sam and Dean on his previous show, “Supernatural,” off Solo and Luke Skywalker.

    Itt should be no surprise that he  “fully intends” to make a project within the ever-expanding “Star Wars” universe. This comment got some fans worrying that he may take on the project before “The Boys” final season is complete. Many are referencing the disastrous final season of “Game of Thrones” where one of the contributing factors was the writing staff being committed to “Star Wars” before it ended. 

    Kripke saying this is in no way shape or form an official announcement that he will. Just more of a statement of intention that we hope Disney takes to heart.

    “I worry a lot,” Kripke said about “The Boys” spin-off “Gen V” and his upcoming projects “Diabolical” and “The Boys Mexico.” “About becoming the thing that we’re satirizing. Like, daily, I worry about it. I say it all the time to people on a lot of calls, like, our brand is punk rock. We deserve extra scorn if we sell out.”

    It sounds like he is just as concerned as fans about keeping the brand he helped create on message and to the quality we’ve come to expect. As cool as a Kripke “Star Wars” project would be, his attentions are clearly on wrapping up this chapter of “The Boys.”
