No one could have expected last October’s “Five Nights At Freddy’s” to be such a hit, or that it will get a sequel. Well, no one except for die hard fans of the indie horror game franchise. The sequel was confirmed at CinemaCon 2024, and fans began the wait for a release.

Universal Pictures recently dropped a bunch of release dates, including the date for “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2.”

Jason Blum and series creator Scott Cawthon are confirmed to return as producers. Emma Tami will also be returning to direct the sequel. There is no word on the plot at this time. Many have speculated that this will be a direct sequel to the movie, not a film adaptation of “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2.” There has been no confirmation regarding the cast. Fans are hopeful Matthew Lillard, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, and Piper Rubio will return.

We have to say announcing this near the 10 year anniversary of the franchise is pretty cool.

The release dates news is essentially the Blumhouse 2025 line up. Two other major titles had their release dates announced and two anticipated sequels were pushed. The first in the line up is the thriller “The Woman in the Yard,” which is set for March 28th, 2025. Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes’ “Drop” is slated for April 11th, 2025. Anticipated sequel “M3GAN 2.0” has been pushed to June 25th, 2025. “The Black Phone 2” was also pushed and will now premiere October 17th, 2025. All film plots are being kept tightly under warps.

“Five Nights At Freddy’s 2” will be premiering on Friday, December 5th, 2025. We will report when any news regarding casting and plots is announced.
