This just in-
highly influential and long-running graphic novel “Elfquest” is once again being adapted! This time, as an animated series at FOX.
Susan Hurwitz Arneson will serve as showrunner, as well as executive produce and write the series.
“ElfQuest couldn’t be in better hands,” original series creators Wendy and Richard Pini said in a statement. “Our collaborators trust the story. We have the highest regard for their previous achievements, and they have our blessing and input. We know their adaptation of ElfQuest will be a dream come true.”
“Wendy and Richard created and sustained one of the most successful independent comics of all time. It’s vividly influenced many of our favorite movies and creators,” Rodney Rothman, who is producing the project via Modern Magic, said. “Along with Susan Arneson, we see their achievement as a perfect jumping off point to explore how post-Spider-Verse animation can take the fantasy genre someplace we haven’t seen before. If you’re an artist who this speaks to, let us know. We’re looking for you.”
“Four years of negotiations and planning. Four years of waiting until the time was right. Finally the word is out and we can actually talk about it,” Wendy Pini added.
