We knew it was likely after nyet another cancellation, but it’s official- the Electronic Entertainment Expo is no more. They had a tough time coming back following the pandemic, but the annual gaming convention just couldn’t make it.
It doesn’t really help that most of the biggest companies in the industry abandoned E3 to make their own live-stream (and in-person) events. E3 used to the place where Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and others would roll out their new gaming upgrades, hardware and unit news, as well as big titles in the works.
The announcement officially game this morning from E3’s social media. Thanks for 20 years of the event, folks. It was fun while it lasted.
Some giants of the industry have been posting their thoughts on the news as well. Like Cory Barlog.
