Call your therapist, your favorite and least favorite animated emotions are back in the new trailer for “Inside Out 2.” The sequel film follows a now teenage Riley navigating a torrent of feelings, including newcomer Anxiety. Maya Hawke joins to voice the new character, and we sense she’ll live up to her namesake.

Picking up the directorial torch from Pete Docter (who directed the first and now serves as Chief Creative Officer for Pixar Animation Studios) is Kelsey Mann. Mann is credited with the story for “The Good Dinosaur” and directed the “Monsters University” related short, “Party Central.”
While Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black return as Joy, Sadness, and Anger respectively, we will find a few tweaks to Fear and Disgust. Tony Hale (who is no stranger to the Pixar world, having voiced one of our favorite characters of all time, Forky) steps in to take over Fear from Bill Hader. Liza Lapira (who stars in “The Equalizer” series) will slide into the role of Disgust in lieu of Mindy Kaling.
The studio also released two new film stills, and a teaser trailer for the feature.

“Inside Out 2” is slated to hit theaters summer of 2024.
