    EMENES punished for toxic behaviour

Recently, screenshots of Jang “EMENES” Min-soo’s bad behaviour on soloQ surfaced on social media. The player was finally punished, and by the League of Legends Championship Series. This is not the first time EMENES has been criticised for his inappropriate behaviour. Previously, the Korean admittedly not officially, but behind the scenes, was said to have problems with alcohol and behaviour at scrims.

At the time, he was playing in the Northern League of Legends Championship and the JDXL game against Bifrost reflected this very well. EMENES picked Taliyah and fell as many as five times in 14 minutes. And he did so in a very irresponsible manner, as he walked into his opponent at every possible opportunity. After that, he was sidelined from the EXCEL ESPORTS academy’s main line-up and Adrian “Mrozku”

Skonieczny stepped in instead. Interestingly, the centre-back was also removed from the team earlier in 2020 for bad behaviour towards his teammates. At the time, he was playing for Australian Legacy Esports. The League of Legends World Championship in South Korea starts already on 10 October. The BO5 match for the last slot between Team BDS and Golden Guardians will take place the day before. Worlds conducted in the new format will last until 19 November. That is when the grand final will take place at the Gocheok Sky Dome arena in Seoul. The earlier stages of the tournament will also take place in the South Korean capital, but also in part in Busan.

This was to improve at Cloud9, as the slow introduction of the Korean showed. EMENES started by playing in the academy, and after he proved himself, he was promoted to the main squad. Over the summer, the 22-year-old was praised by most of the American community, which is not surprising as the fact that he is a mechanical master has been talked about forever. This was mentioned by Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek, among others, in an interview. And a similar opinion was held by Dominik “ZAMULEK” Biela.

However, Min-soo continues to have problems with his behaviour, as recently published screenshots from the Korean soloQ showed. Among other things, EMENES wrote to his fellow players to return to their country. Today, on the other hand, the LCS decided to fine him $15,000. In addition, the Korean will have to undergo an educational course on professional behaviour before the start of the 2024 season.

The Fourth LEC team officially checks in at Worlds

The final verdict has been delivered. The qualifying series between the fourth-ranked forces of both regions has determined the final participant at Worlds 2023. That honour went to Team BDS, who dealt with Golden Guardians in a one-sided 3:0 series.

Two skirmishes and 2:0 for LEC

It would be difficult to dwell at length on the first game of the Worlds Qualifying Series. The stomp barraged from Team BDS could emerge in contention for the fastest game of this championship, if only the past series was counted towards it. Dominance in the solo alleys turned into a quick and noticeable advantage across the map. The encounter lasted just over 20 minutes, and it was close to Herold dancing under the enemy Nexus.

Fortunately – for the sake of the series – the second duel started with some good plays by Golden Guardians. The advantage in the later stages of the game was not at all obvious, however, and Adam “Adam” Maanane’s team bravely resisted the American representatives. The EMEA formation’s final comeback came on Baron. Taking on the purple beast and wiping out all five of their rivals allowed BDS to slowly close out the next clash and stand at match point.

BDS last team with promotion to Worlds

In the third game, the favourite was slowly clarifying. The development of the action this time did not indicate a quick end. The early kills came at the hands of Ilias “nuca” Bizriken and company, while the first Herold was exterminated by Kim “Rivera” Dong-woo’s team. In the end, it was the former who started to come out on top in gold. As early as the 19th minute, Team BDS also checked in at Soul Point. The next few moments were marked by a growing lead and a gradual dismantling of the structures in the Golden Guardians’ base. The formation from the League of Legends EMEA Championship also secured a fourth dragon. Consistent good decisions and the poor disposition of their rivals meant that the series ended with the team from our backyard advancing after just under 30 minutes of game three.
The 2023 World Championship officially kicks off on October 10! A play-in phase is ahead to determine the last two teams to compete for the top spot – this time in the new Swiss format.
