Indianapolis, Indiana will be the only place to try the new Taco Bell item being tested, the Cheesy Street Chalupa. This “savory street-inspired snack” appears to be similar to the Quesalupas the company once offered. At this time only the Taco Bell restaurants located in Indianapolis are offering the item.

Customers ordering the Cheesy Street Chalupa will receive two chalupas made with mozzarella and pepper jack-stuffed shells. The shells are then filled with a choice of steak or chicken and topped with diced onions and cilantro. The item costs between $5.49 and $5.99, depending on location. It definitely sounds tasty and like a dish you could get from a street vendor.
Okay, but CHICKEN NUGGETS?!

Meanwhile in Minneapolis, Minnesota customers can try Taco Bell’s Crispy Chicken Nuggets. These white-meat nuggets are marinated in jalapeno-spiced buttermilk before being breaded and fried. Anyone who orders the nuggets can choose between the “Bell sauce” or jalapeno-flavored honey mustard for dipping. The “Bell sauce” consists of tomato, red chili, onion, and garlic. A five piece nugget comes with one dipping sauce and costs between $3.99 and $4.99. The ten piece comes with both sauces for between $6.99 and $7.99.
Taco Bell has not given any indication about if both items will become available beyond their current test markets. Which is a little disappointing because who isn’t curious enough to try those nuggets? We promise we won’t tell McDonald’s if anyone does try them. Hopefully these new items do well enough in testing and will be offered in all restaurants.
