Perpetual action hero Jason Statham (“The Meg 2”) is at it again in the first trailer for Miramax’s “The Beekeeper.” The upcoming film is directed by filmmaker David Ayer (“Fury”) from a script by Kurt Wimmer (“Expend4bles”).

In the trailer we see Statham in his natural habitat, punching and shooting his way through countless enemies. The carnage being a part of his quest for revenge after being outed as a former agent for an organization known as the Beekeepers.
The cast also includes Emmy Raver-Lampman (“The Umbrella Academy”), Josh Hutcherson (“The Hunger Games”), Bobby Naderi (“How I Got There”), Minnie Driver (“Uproar”), Phylicia Rashad (“Our Son”), and Oscar winner Jeremy Irons (“The Cello”).

“Having collaborated with Jason on Wrath Of Man and Operation Fortune, and with David on Fury, we are fortunate to partner with these masters of the new action genre to bring Kurt’s brilliant script to the first installment of this franchise,” Miramax CEO Bill Block said in a statement. “The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats.”
Up until this trailer, little was known about “The Beekeeper.” When the film was first announced it was described as a “fast-paced action-thriller, which is steeped in the mythology of beekeeping.” And we can’t deny, that an action movie based around beekeeping does sound interesting.
“The Beekeeper” is set to hit theaters on January 12, 2024. You can check out the trailer below:
