    The downfall of Genesis Casino

There have been quite a few online casinos that have closed their virtual doors in recent years. One of the most prominent cases was Genesis Casino, a site that was pretty well established since launching in 2018 and had players from the UK and all around the world.

However, by the close of 2022, this site was no longer in operation, leaving existing players wondering why. In this article, we’ll explain exactly what happened to Genesis Casino and its sister sites.

    What was Genesis Casino?

Genesis Casino was an online casino that was available in many countries and regions around the world. It launched in 2018 and was owned by Genesis Global Limited. They had many licenses to operate the site – including from the British Gambling Commission which allowed UK residents to play.

In terms of offerings, they had partnered with a number of software developers to provide hundreds of different games. This included:

    • Slots
    • Table games
    • Live dealer
    • Slingo
    • Jackpots
    • and more

Players could choose from a variety of payment methods to fund their account. The website was also available on both computers and mobile devices so they could access it however they preferred.

    What happened to Genesis Casino?

In December 2022, Genesis Casino stopped operating in the UK after surrendering their British Gambling Commission licence. Immediately as a result, UK residents could no longer use the platform to gamble. That’s because all gambling sites must have an active licence in order to accept bets in the country.

This decision followed an incident from earlier in the year when they were fined by the same commission for breaches in their licence terms.

Subsequently, Genesis Global Limited faced suspensions of many of their other licences, including from the Malta Gaming Authority. This prevented players from various other countries from being able to gamble at this site.

Shortly after, Genesis Casino closed down entirely. The website became inaccessible and their customer support unavailable. Unfortunately, this means players can no longer log in or get access to their account.

    Are their other brands closed?

All of the other online gambling sites that were operated by Genesis Global Limited have also closed down. That’s because the surrenders and suspensions weren’t isolated to just one platform. Instead, they impacted all of the brands under the company’s management.

The sites that were affected include:

    • CasinoCruise
    • Sloty
    • Casino Planet
    • Casino Lab
    • Vegas Hero
    • Spinit
    • & more

These sites have also been removed entirely – so players can no longer log in or gain access to these accounts either, unfortunately.

    Plenty of alternatives are available

Luckily, the online gambling landscape is vast. This means there are plenty of other options for those looking to play slots and games online. The most important thing for players to remember is that they should always play at sites that have appropriate gambling licences.

For UK residents, this means choosing a site with a licence from the British Gambling Commission. This will ensure that they are playing somewhere that’s legally allowed to operate in the country and has strict protections in place. For example, you can go to this list of UK online casinos to compare a variety of sites with this licence.

For players in other countries, there are a variety of other online gambling licences that are appropriate. It all depends on where you’re currently residing. For example, the MGA is the most known licence holder in Finland and allows Finnish players to access popular online casinos.

While Genesis Casino had many good offerings, many of these alternatives have similar features. For example, you can find sites with games from the same software providers, and use the same payment methods to deposit and play. All good gambing sites today are available on computer or mobile too – so you can play whenever you want.
