Independent entertainment company, A24’s latest film “Dream Scenario” will hit theaters later this year. The upcoming dark comedy stars Oscar winner Nicolas Cage in seemingly yet another mind bending role. The film is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (“Sick of Myself”).

“Dream Scenario” tells the story of hapless family man, Paul Matthews (Cage), who finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom. The film also stars Julianne Nicholson, Dylan Baker, Kate Berlant, Michael Cera, Dylan Gelula, and Tim Meadows.

The film is produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg, along with Jacob Jaffke, Tyler Campellone, and A24. “Dream Scenario”  will be the fourth collaboration between Square Peg and A24 following “Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” and “Beau Is Afraid.” So clearly something is working in this partnership

“Dream Scenario” will open at the Toronto Film Festival’s Platform section next month. And hits theaters nationwide on November 10th, which is putting this up against some seriously stiff competition at the box office. The weekend of November 10-12 currently has slated theatrical releases for Disney/Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels,” Sony’s “Journey to Bethlehem,” and Focus Features’ “The Holdovers,” which is also premiering at TIFF.

But A24 has recently had a string of titles that are doing well for themselves amid bigger budget productions. The company’s Australian horror movie, “Talk to Me,” pulled in $31.3 million stateside through its third weekend. As well as the romance drama “Past Lives,” from Celine Song starring Greta Lee, that has already made $10.5 million.

“Dream Scenario” will hit theaters on November 10th. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the project as they become available.
