Get Your Pup a Barrel Dog Collar

When I was a kid, one of the cartoons I remembered most was the one where Pluto gets frozen from the cold and is rescued by a St. Bernard who has brandy in a barrel around his neck. I’ve recently found out these actually exist, and you can get one for your dog!

What’s extra cool about this is that if you wanted to cosplay with your service dog, you could Disney it up with this collar or use lumi harnesses for an added touch. You could go dressed in all blue and pretend to be a very cold Pluto. And you could fill it with water to keep you hydrated. Plus if you bring a pop up water bowl for your dog he can pour himself a drink.

The image of a St. Bernard saving wayward mountain climbers with a brandy barrel strapped around their neck has been in popular culture for almost 200 years. While that legend may be based more on fiction than reality, these wood barrel collars are synonymous with the breed.

The best part is you can train your dog to serve you your favorite beverage from this collar. Barrel collars come in both 1-liter and half liter sizes and are available with either brass or black rings and come with a removable spigot for dispensing liquid.

The item is recommended for St. Bernards specifically, but I suppose it would work with any larger breed. Though it might look pretty funny on a chihuahua. Pick up your own here.

When looking for the perfect accessories for your pup, it’s also essential to consider their behavior and training. Finding a qualified dog trainer near me can help ensure your dog not only looks great but also behaves well in any situation. Combining good training with stylish gear can make outings with your dog more enjoyable and stress-free.
