Burger King Announces “Spider-Man” Whopper, Sundae

Burger King has announced a themed whopper to help celebrate the theatrical release of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” It, and other themed threats are coming to restaurants nation-wide. They will also be selling a specially themed ice cream sundae! (If their ice cream machine works.)

The “Spider-Verse” Whopper features a red bun topped with black sesame seeds, drawing inspiration from the amazing web-slinger himself, along with melted Swiss cheese and all the traditional Whopper toppings – including juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions. Burger King guests can have the Spider-Verse Whopper their way with personal customizations – including the addition of crispy bacon – potentially making for nearly as many combination possibilities as there are Spider-Verses.

Its just a Whopper with a red-dyed bun and black-dyed sesame seeds. The sundae will be a regular soft serve adorned with black and red chocolate popping candy. If this is your jam, we encourage you to whip out your Spider-Man cosplay and take pictures eating the new food. Burger King admits t’s very Instagram-worthy.

We’re also looking forward to the toys that will be out for the film. From May to June, six different “Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse” kids meal toys will be available. Each one connects to another to create a cityscape from the film as well as comes with a QR code for interactive play. Sets include Mile’s Rooftop BBQ, Spot’s Pad, Clock Tower, Gwen’s Apartment Building, Downtown Mumbattan and a Brooklyn Construction Site.

The Spider-Verse Whopper will be available nationwide May 15th-June 21st, 2023. The Sony Pictures animated feature swings into theaters June 2nd, 2023.
