Emmy and BAFTA Award-nominated actor and writer Rob Delaney (“Catastrophe”) will be reprising his role as Peter in “Deadpool 3.” The third installment of the Marvel Studios franchise will be directed by Shawn Levy (“Stranger Things”), from a script co-written by Levy, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, Zeb Wells, and Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

While plot details for “Deadpool 3” are still under wraps, the comics, and films follow wise-cracking mercenary Wade Wilson. After a disfiguring scientific experiment, Wilson transforms into the immortal superhero known as Deadpool. Which is essentially the plot of the first film.
In “Deadpool 2,” the “Merc with a Mouth” teams up with Weasel (T.J. Miller) to form X-Force. While X-Force is comprised mostly of mutants, Peter (Delaney) makes it onto the team despite being a human with no real special abilities. The film follows the group as they try to rescue Russell Collins aka Firefist (Julian Dennison). Who is a young mutant being abused in a “Mutant Re-education Center.”
The third installment will also see the return of several other key characters from the previous films. Including Deadpool’s cab driver/sidekick Dopinder (Karan Soni), his roommate Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), his fiancée Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), and big metal mutant Colossus (Stefan Kapicic). But “Deadpool 3” will see some fresh faces as well including Emma Corrin (“The Crown”) and Matthew Macfadyen (“Succession”). As well as Hugh Jackman who will be reprising his role of Wolverine from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the superhero has been the butt of many of Deadpool’s jokes, this will be his first appearance in the franchise.

Reynolds and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will produce. This will be the first film in the franchise to involve Feige, following Disney’s acquisition of Fox. It will also maintain an R-rating, a first for Disney’s MCU.
“Deadpool 3” is slated to hit theaters on November 8th, 2024. But we’ll keep you posted on updates as they become available.
