McDonald’s Releases Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry, Guava Pie

As we head into spring, there’s nothing like a bright, frosted treat. And with spring being a time that evokes brunches and the sweet treats of Easter, McDonalds is releasing a new McFlurry flavor for a limited time. Get ready for the Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry. No doubt this one will go fast if it’s as delicious as their standard Oreo or M&M flurries. McFlurries have enjoyed a variety of toppings, but most haven’t stuck around.

Well, it certainly LOOKS tasty (McDonalds)

Come April 12th, McDonald’s patrons can buy the delectable treat. Vanilla ice cream, swirled with strawberry-flavored clusters, and chunks of shortbread. Sounds delicious on paper. We’ll wait and see how guests respond to the flavor. A bit of a shame, and perhaps a missed opportunity, not to use strawberry ice cream. But maybe that’s asking a bit too much. Perhaps the flavor profile will speak for itself.

There’s ALSO new, limited edition item that’s only available in Hawaii. The guava creme pie! So you’d best be buying a plane ticket if you’re a fan who wants to sample everything the fast food giant has to offer. Otherwise, we’ll see you at the drive-in!

    McDonalds

Depending on reception, it’s possible that the Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry will become a staple during spring. Much like McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, which has been an annual favorite 53 years and running. We’ll just have to give it a try ourselves and see if it’s worthy of a longer run.
