Watch: Ben Affleck Surprises Dunkin’ Donuts Customers

Earlier this year, Ben Affleck and his wife, singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, were spotted at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Medford, Massachusetts. This didn’t seem odd really. We all know about the actor/director’s love of the chain. The oddness came from the fact that Affleck was working the drive-thru. Customers were surprised and delighted to see him handing them their orders.

As predicted, the whole thing was for a Super Bowl spot with the couple. Affleck takes orders while praising the company’s quality and price point. “How can it be this inexpensive and good,” he ponders over the loudspeaker. Then the customers give candid reactions to meeting the star in such an unlikely situation. That and they were apparently getting their food for free, which will brighten up anyone’s day.

The ad ends with Lopez pulling up to the window, perplexed as to why he is there. “What are you doing here? Is this what you do when you say you’re going to work all day?” she asks. A busted Affleck walks off with Lopez asking for him to get her a glazed donut.

None of this should be a surprise though, because his enthusiasm for the brand is well known. “It’s amazing! I have Dunkin’ Donuts everyday,” Affleck gushed about having a location in Los Angeles back in 2019. “It’s very weird, I have it every day and people are always like, ‘Where is that? Is that near here?’ So, I feel like I’m spreading the word.”

The commercial was directed by Affleck himself, and shot by cinematographer Erik Sohlstrom. The Dunkin’ Donuts advertisement was executive produced by Ryan Slavin and Jay Pollak.
