    Most Popular Twitch Niches

There is no other service such as Twitch. The video live streaming platform is known for its unique creative content that attracts people worldwide. It may have started as a live video gaming service, but it offers many niches today. In fact, we firmly believe that the platform has a little something for everyone. Here, you can find anything from the most popular games and talented singers to exciting slots streams, chess tournaments, and chill just chatting. So keep reading to discover the most popular niches on Twitch for 2022.

    Gaming

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the most popular niche on Twitch is gaming. Some of the most watched games on Twitch are League of Legends with over 1.8 billion hours watched, Grand Theft Auto V with over 2.1 billion views, and Valorant with over 1 billion views. In fact, games are how the platform started. Twitch began in 2011 as a live streaming platform for gaming. The first streamers streamed games such as League of Legends, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. But, as the platform grew, it evolved into so much more, leading us to the next niche.

    Slots

Slots are one of the newest niches on Twitch that became popular in the past year. A recent GoodLuckMate’s gambling survey discovered that slots are the most played casino game, so it’s no wonder it also found its place on Twitch. Some of the biggest streamers are playing Slots on the platform, such as xQc. He has an average of 60,000 viewers when he plays online slot machines. Other popular streamers who play slots are Trainwreckstv with an average of 30,000 viewers, ROSHTEIN with an average of 22,000 viewers, and CORINNAKOPF with an average of 10,000 viewers.

    Just Chatting

Another incredibly popular niche on Twitch is the Just Chatting category. It may seem weird, but this is the best place for the streamers to interact with their community. This niche enables the streamers to communicate with their most loyal fans in real-time, learn about their lives and share their stories. The most popular Just Chatting streamers are AdinRoss, xQc, and ibai. All of them have over 60,000 average viewers when they are in the category.

    Chess

Do you wonder how chess managed to get in the top five niches on Twitch? Believe it or not, playing chess is one of the biggest streaming obsessions. That all happened thanks to Hikaru Nakamura (GMHikaru) in 2020, the youngest player in the US to be named master. He got this title at age 10. Moving forward to 2020, when everyone was stuck in their homes to the COVID-19 pandemic, GMHikaru made chess famous again. He streamed his incredible wins and coached many popular streamers. All this led to an amateur chess tournament that included popular streamers and was watched by 63,000 people.

    Music

Last but not least is the music niche. Even though Twitch has many problems with DMCA and streamers are no longer allowed to stream copyrighted music without being banned, the music category is one of the most popular areas on the platform. There you can find many talented musicians from around the world singing or playing an instrument. There are also live channels that stream non-stop music. Different channels play different genres, so you can always find music for studying, working, partying, or relaxing.
