I recently tried a new perfume company called Fragrance Revival. The reason I chose to do so was because the bottles of Forever Krystle which is a now discontinued scent by Carrington are now at such high prices I can’t justify getting it. The prices on places like eBay and Mercari were getting higher and higher. And while I do think that it’s worth it for personal reasons, my pocketbook disagreed.
Forever Krystle is a dear scent to me because it’s what my Nana wore for special occasions all while I was growing up. Choir performance, Christmas or even just coming to visit that’s what I remember smelling. It’s one of those weird sensory things where the smell that you associate with a person helps you to remember. Like in the movie “Anastasia” when she’s remembering where her grandmother spilled perfume on the rug, and how she would smell it when she missed her because she was away.
I wanted something that smelled the same, but was also fresh. I had been scammed before by a seller saying that they had bottles of the same perfume only for it to come and it smelled horrible. So trying out Fragrance Revival and spending the money upfront without smelling it first was a bit of a gamble for me. Luckily, it was a great gamble. Much like when I found BetWinner online. And for those who aren’t in the United States you can check out BetWinner Chile.
The Smell Test
Today I got the bottle in the mail and did the ultimate sniff test. I sprayed one bottle of the old on one wrist, and the new one by Fragrance Revival on the other. I came to the conclusion that it’s very very close. It’s probably what a new bottle of Forever Krystle would have smelled like when it was brand new. The only thing that was missing was a kind of musty smell that I have become used to because the bottles of the perfume that I could get my hands on are now considered vintage.
I really think that those who have loved ones that they miss, or even had a signature scent like Moon Petal Musk by Calgon should invest in a bottle of their variety of it.
The Cost
The cost of the perfumes are about $69.99 for 3.4 ounces. Right now the prices are over half off because the company is running a Facebook ad. Normally it would be nearer to $149. Still fair, but I suggest following their Facebook page so you can catch the deals. If you use it sparingly one bottle could last you a year or longer.
A Great Gift Idea
If you remember a time when your mom, significant other or friend only wore a certain perfume and then was sad when it was discontinued, this could be the perfect thing to put in their Christmas Stocking. I can’t emphasize enough how nice it is to just have the same scent in the house that used to be associated with so many good memories.
You can also customize the bottles which is what I did with mine. I got my Nana’s name printed on the front so now those who see the bottle will know that it was her signature scent. I recommend doing this for gifts because it is offered at no additional cost, and it will really let the person know that you were thinking about them.
