We do want to say that while this isn’t concrete yet, it does seem likely Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four” has found it’s director. Most recently Jon Watts, who directed the trio of “Spider-Man” films starring Tom Holland, was in the hot seat. But, considering he *did* just complete a fairly sizable trilogy for Marvel Studios, he decided to turn down the project.
During SDCC 2022, Kevin Feige revealed the “Fantastic Four” was going to kick off Phase Six of the MCU, along with a release date. But no information about casting or a director has been confirmed. This is likely to change at Disney’s D23 event.

The big chatter today is that “WandaVision” director Matt Shakman may be that person. He’s apparently had talks with the powers that be, and is circling the film. His next confirmed project was going to be a little thing for Paramount called…”Star Trek,” but as of today, he’s no longer directing.
“Matt Shakman is an incredibly talented filmmaker, and we regret the timing didn’t align for him to direct our upcoming Star Trek film,” Paramount Pictures said in a statement. “We are grateful for his many contributions, are excited about the creative vision of this next chapter and look forward to bringing it to audiences all around world.”
“Fantastic Four” is currently dated for a November 8th, 2024 release.
