McDonald’s Testing a Chicken Big Mac for Some Reason

With fast food companies always trying to get people to buy their products for one reason or another, a random assortment of food combinations to their menu is necessary. We’ll admit it is a cheap way to garner interest, if only for a short amount of time. Taco Bell is probably the most guilty of this by using their taco meat on anything they can think of. Why wouldn’t other competitors try to join in?

McDonald’s has decided to get into the game with the announcement of the chicken Big Mac. We have to wonder- who asked for this?

The traditional Big Mac- McDonald’s Product Image

“We’re always looking to give our fans more ways to enjoy the classic menu items they know and love,” a spokesperson for the chain said. “And starting later this month, at select Miami restaurants, we’re testing a new twist on an old favorite: The Chicken Big Mac.”

The staple menu item of McDonald’s has always been the Big Mac. Some people might argue the quarter pounder is the second-best favorite menu item, along with the chicken sandwich because of how cheap it is. In a way this makes sense, given the fact that the biggest threats to McDonald’s has been Burger King and Popeye’s, who both now have famous chicken sandwiches that appeal to most consumers as a healthier option than beefier products.

MacDonald’s wouldn’t state whether the test run of the chicken Big Mac would last long or what locations in Miami should expect to see the sandwich but if popular enough it could become a regular menu item.

“We know fans cant wait for our new crispy chicken sandwich to hit restaurants, so we’re celebrating them and this moment with a drop like no other,” McDonald’s VP of Communications David Tovar stated. “We’re excited to give fans early access to this sandwich and exclusive swag they can’t get anywhere else to memorialize this great addition to our menu.”

Time will tell if this extra dosage of chicken to the McDonalds’ menu will become the hit they hope it does or not. Follow Nerdbot for more coverage on up and coming products that are just as bizarre as this one.
