    U2 Getting “Bohemian Rhapsody” Style Biopic Series from JJ Abrams

    This just in-

    Sounds like Irish pop/rock sensation U2 are getting the “Bohemian Rhapsody” biopic series treatment. We say “Bohemian Rhapsody” because the same writer, Anthony McCarten, will also pen this project.

    JJ Abrams and Bad Robot are reportedly producing the U2 project, which will be housed on Netflix. At present, there are no details about how much Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. will actually be involved.

    Here’s hoping this series doesn’t run into the same issues as the Billy Joel one currently in production- which doesn’t have the rights to Joel’s likeness or his musical catalog.

    Also, yeah, it’s a little strange that this show would be for Netflix, and not either AppleTV+ or HBO Max, considering Abrams’ and Bad Robot’s ties.
