This just in-
it would appear that Jerry Bruckheimer (“Pirates of the Caribbean“) will produce a live-action film based on “Beyblade” for Paramount. This news was announced earlier today. Beyblade was originally launched in 1999, as a direct competitor to Pokémon. The franchise includs manga, anime, and a popular battling tops collectable toy/game.
The script will reportedly be penned by Neil Widener and Gavin James. The pair are fairly new to film writing, but do have upcoming credits on “San Andreas 2,” and “Now You See Me 3.”
