“The Orville” Releases S3 Opening Scene, But Delays Premiere

Looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for “The Orville” season 3. The sci-fi series, which we maintain is actually one of the best “Star Trek” series out there right now, has delayed their third season premiere to later this summer. The series is also moving from Fox to Hulu.

In order to hold audiences over at yet another delay, series creator and star Seth MacFarlane released a first look at the opening. He also released a statement via his Twitter thanking fans for their patience.

In addition to a new platform the series also has an updated title, making it officially “The Orville: New Horizons.” It’s been three long years since we last saw a season of the show. Season 2 left off in April of 2019.

    The official show description is:

Set 400 years in the future, “The Orville: New Horizons” finds the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continuing their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships.

The cast for season 3 includes: MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, Jessica Szohr, and Anne Winters.

“The Orville” season 3 will premiere on Hulu on June 2, 2022.
