HBO Max is putting on a special reunion production for the 20th anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” In the special we will be able to see many of the original cast members of the film including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. JK Rowling is not involved.
We’ll also be seeing Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Ian Hart, Filmmaker Chris Columbus, and more. The special will have interviews and cast conversations about the film and the impact it had on the world.
It’s hard to believe that “Harry Potter” is already 20 years old. The first film, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” was released in Ireland and the United Kingdom on November 10th and 11th in 2001. The United States had to wait until November 16th to see it in theaters. If you were one of the first people to see it, then you know that the experience was magical. I was very lucky to be about 15 years old and old enough to see it on my own. That opening music gave you chills and honestly the movie was and is perfect still.
“Return to Hogwarts” will hit HBO Max on January 1st, 2022.
