P Is for Pterodactyl: The Worst Alphabet Book Ever

If you’ve ever wanted to majorly confuse your kids, this would be the way to do it. This alphabet book has tons of entries like K is for knight which showcases the N sound. Or C is for Czar which uses more of a Z sound. This would be a great book for people with kids or maybe even for an advanced elementary school reader. Mostly because it teaches and reaffirms that the English language is just WILD.

This book says that it’s full of rule breaking and silent letters. Don’t let them defeat you! With many exceptions to the rule you’re bound to get used to them by reading this book. The New York Times called it a “raucous trip through the odd corners of our alphabet.”
