Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop Revealed in Jeremy Renner’s “Hawkeye” Photo

We’ve been WAITING impatiently to share officially released images from Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” which is filming right now. Thankfully, Jeremy Renner shared a photo featuring his co-star(s) Hailee Steinfeld, who is playing hero Kate Bishop, and the pooch playing Lucky the Pizza Dog!

Lucky the Pizza Dog first appeared in Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye comics run, and we are absolutely delighted to see him included in the Disney+ series.

Renner is reprising his role of Clint Barton, aka Avengers member Hawkeye. He’s training young Kate Bishop, played by Steinfeld, who takes over the mantle of Hawkeye in the comics (and we’re assuming in the next phase of the MCU as well).

There have been no shortage of leaked set photos this past week, but we’re not going to run any of them. We’re sure if you really wanted to see them, a simple search on any social media platform will yield results.

We WILL say that some of images we’ve seen actually feature Clint’s hearing aid.

Also spotted recently (and confirmed, mostly) is Florence Pugh, reprising her “Black Widow” role of Yelena Belova. Vera Farmiga will be playing Kate Bishop’s mother Eleanor.  Fra Fee will be playing Marvel Comics character Clown, Tony Dalton will be Swordsman, and Alaqua Cox will be deaf Native American superhero Echo. Cox herself is both deaf, AND Native American, so that’s pretty awesome.

While we don’t have a set release date yet, we do know that Disney+ is looking at a late 2021 drop for the “Hawkeye” series. We will of course let you know what we hear about this and other Marvel Studios projects.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
