‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake’ Demo Available Now

It’s here! It’s really here! In case you missed the news that has been dominating every gaming site out there, Final Fantasy 7 Remake has a playable demo! Even better news? You can download and play it right now!

The official announcement came from Square Enix early on February 2nd. According to the game’s Twitter account, the demo will allow players to “experience the beginning of the story.” This means players will be able to explore part of Final Fantasy 7’s first chapter. Specifically, the demo lets players complete the Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission. Square Enix has previously confirmed that the entire first chapter will take place in the sprawling city limits of Midgar.

Since the game itself is still in development, the contents of the demo may differ from the final product. There is a downside to the demo though. Any progress made by players in the demo will not carry over into the actual game. This means that players will have to replay the section when they finally get their hands on the game on April 10th. That’s a small price to pay for the chance to finally get your hands on a game many years in the making. Need more incentive to download the game demo? If you download the demo before May 11th you will receive an exclusive PS4 theme. The theme will be available on the day of the game’s release.

In addition to the demo’s announcement, Square Enix also released a new trailer for the game. While the trailer doesn’t show much in 26 seconds, it does emphasize the incredible effort and detail being put into the remake. It will certainly have something to offer for both new and returning fans. At least we have something to tide us over until April 10th is finally here.
