Netflix Casts John Cho as Spike Speigel in “Cowboy Bebop”

As a rabid fan of 90s anime, I’ve been quite skeptical upon hearing that there was going to be a Netflix live action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop. Cowboy Bebop was created by manga writer Cain Kuga and the anime adaptation was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe. The anime is a futuristic western noir flare with bounty hunters. Trust me it’s worth it to watch. You’ll love each of the characters, even Ein the lovable corgi.

Recently they have announced Mustafa Shakir (Jet Black) Daniella Pineda (Faye Valentine) and Alex Hassell (Viscious) as part of the cast. But even bigger news this week it was announced that John Cho was casted for the lead of Spike Speigel. Yes ladies and gentlemen, they we have our very own space cowboy. And I’m very excited that he was chosen, it’s very rare to see an Asian take front and center of an anime live action adaptation.

No word yet on who they will cast as Ed. See ya later cowboy
