Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is Shang Tsung in MK11

It has begun! And cast in the role of Shang Tsung for the video game Mortal Kombat 11 is none other than Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa reprising his role from the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is one of the most iconic voices from the film with his lines like “Flawless Victory” or “Finish Him”. It is exciting for fans of the movie who may not have played the game to know that he is involved. I know it may be hard to believe, but some of us got into the Mortal Kombat franchise because of the film in 95. Some of us only had one thing on their Christmas wish list that year, the Mortal Kombat VHS and CD Soundtrack to the film. Ok I’m talking about me.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon revealed the trailer for his content at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. If this trailer doesn’t get you pumped for the game I don’t know what will. Just seeing him as a cgi character with that green soul like swirl surrounding him makes me want to play. Oh and that’s one more thing I hope he says in the game. “Your soul is Mine”.
