According to Movieweb, while doing press for his movie Alita: Battle Angel James Cameron has also dropped some tidbits about the Terminator 6 movie. The current working title is Terminator: Dark Fate and the movie will follow the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day and ignore the subsequent three movies in the franchise by “pretending they were a bad dream” as Cameron has been quoted.

Both Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s T-800 and Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor will be different from what we’ve seen before. According to Cameron, Schwarzeneggar’s T-800 will be “a different Terminator than you’ve ever seen before, I mean literally he’s a different chassis number but he’s also a very different guy than you’ve seen before.” Although he will still be bad ass apparently. As for Hamilton’s Sarah Connor, according to Cameron the years after Judgement Day have hardened her. Considering her character was also pretty bad ass before, it will be interesting to see what this more “hardened” version will be like. She will be joined by co-stars Natalia Reyes and Mackenzie Davis, and the movie will be somewhat female-centric. A number of original cast members, including Michael Biehn, Edward Furlong, and Robert Patrick will also appear according to the trailer. Cameron will executive produce the reboot film which will be directed by Tim Miller of Deadpool fame.
The scheduled release date for Terminator 6 is November 1, 2019 and based on the trailer the reboot looks pretty exciting.
