People Are Mad Over Zac Efron’s Ted Bundy Movie Trailer

When you watch the trailer for the new Ted Bundy movie it’s pretty exciting. There is funky music, pauses where there should be a funny moment, all that paired with gruesome scenes of bodies being dragged. Check it out for yourself here.

Some people are saying that the trailer doesn’t reflect the seriousness of his crimes, or portray how dangerous he was. Many people are fresh off of watching the newly released Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix. While they aren’t wrong to be upset over the silliness of the trailer, especially since they just watched a super serious docudrama, they are also forgetting a huge aspect of the case.

I think that what people are forgetting is that Ted Bundy was a charmer. He was highly manipulative and knew how to get exactly what he wanted. He said the right things along with the right mannerisms. If you boil it down.. The trailer for the Movie could be Ted Bundy-ing us.

What people seem to be missing out on all together is that this movie is mostly about his girlfriend at the time as she tries to piece together what Ted Bundy is. There is a comment on the Trailer’s YouTube page that says it all.

A user with the screen name ‘Just a random very intelligent drake’ said, “To everyone in the comments that doesn’t know. This movie is about Elizabeth Kloepfer. You can find this in the official synopsis and IMDb page but she was his girlfriend. This movie is about her struggle to reconcile the ted Bundy she sees in all the news reports with the man she loves right in front of her. Its about how he was able to present himself as a good guy in front of her and have her so fooled she didn’t believe it for years. So if they do this right it could have you questioning your ability to spot monsters.”

With the exciting music and the scenes that are shown it is hard not to get excited for the upcoming film. The scenes shown along with how they are shown makes it seem like the movie will be a fun ride you can watch and enjoy. And casting Zac Efron was great from a marketing standpoint too. No matter which way you slice it(haha) this movie is bound to do well when it comes out. Whether it’s the horror aficionado going to see it, the slightly obsessed serial murderer fanatic, or a younger person who remembers Zac Efron from High School Musical, the marketing around this film attracts them all.

Something that can be looked forward to for this movie is that we get to see Zac Efron who had most famously started out on the Disney Channel become something completely different from what he was known for. If you get scared during the film just think about how much fun he must have had stepping into a psycho killer role. Not trying to say that he made light of the murders or anything, just that it is fun to try something new. Besides for those who are mad about the trailer, the movie is called Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile. So any confusion as to what the movie is about can be cleared up from the title.

Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile has yet to announce a release date.
