WhatsApp Web: Now You Can Access WhatsApp on Your Computer

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging applications. Its asynchronous version allows users to send and receive messages from a browser. WhatsApp Web mirrors messages from your phone, thus enabling you to utilize it using a bigger screen. In this guide, we will discuss how to set up and use WhatsApp Web.

     1. Prerequisites for Using WhatsApp Web

WhatsApp Web requires the mobile application to be downloaded first on a smartphone. Furthermore, your phone will need to be connected to the internet because WhatsApp Web syncs the data from your phone.

     2. Configuring WhatsApp Web

    Step-by-Step Guide:

    1. Navigate to WhatsApp Web: Open your browser and navigate to [https://web.whatsapp.com](https://web.whatsapp.com). A QR code would be shown on your screen.

    2. Launch WhatsApp on Your Mobile Device: Now, launch the WhatsApp app on your phone

    3. QR Code Scanning:

     – For Android: Click the three dots at the top right corner and click on “WhatsApp Web.”

     – For iPhone: Look for “Settings”, and click on “WhatsApp Web/Desktop”.

    – Use your phone camera to scan the QR code displayed on the computer.

    4. Start Using WhatsApp Web: All your WhatsApp conversations will now be visible on your computer’s screen after scanning the QR code. You can send messages, share files, and browse chats from your browser.

Using WhatsApp Web is easy to start, right after scanning the QR code you are good to go.

    WhatsApp Web Features

WhatsApp Web covers most functionalities of the mobile application, but some options are restricted:

Send Texts & Media: You can use your computer to send text messages, photos, videos, documents, and even voice messages.

Real-time Sync: All conversations are synced in real-time. Everything you send or receive will be reflected on the web version instantaneously.

Group Chats: You are able to participate in group chats the same way as on the mobile app.

Emojis & Stickers: You receive the ability to use emojis, GIFs, and stickers while chatting.

But WhatsApp Web does have some boundaries:

Cannot Make Calls: At this moment, voice and video calls are not available on WhatsApp Web.

Phone Connection Required: For WhatsApp Web to function properly, your phone needs to be connected to the internet. In case your phone disconnects or runs low on battery, WhatsApp Web will stop functioning.

     4. Log Out of WhatsApp Web

To log out from WhatsApp Web:

    1. On Your Computer: Click on the three little dots in the top left corner of the WhatsApp Web interface. Pick “Log out” from the options.

    2. On Your Phone: Open WhatsApp, head over to Settings and select WhatsApp Web. Then tap “Log out from all devices” if you wish to end all active sessions.
