Interesting Ways to Revamp a Small Kitchen Successfully

Revamping your home or certain parts of it seems like a nice idea, but planning properly and executing it without glitches may not be that easy. What do you do if the kitchen is small? You have to plan smartly and consider both practicality and aesthetics. Here are some interesting ways by which you can remodel a small kitchen:

    • Maximize the available vertical space

If floor space is limited, try to make the most of the vertical space in the kitchen. Go for a layout with hanging racks and open shelves, and free up counter space. Use those places to keep your cooking utensils or stylish dishware.

    • Choose light hues and reflective surfaces

Using light colors in the kitchen will make the space look larger than it is. You can go for colors like pastels, soft grey, white, etc. Also, enough reflective surfaces should be used in the kitchen. Using glass tiles and glossy-finish kitchen cabinets makes complete sense. Such reflective surfaces bounce off light and give the place an airy feel.

    • Go for multifunctional furniture

If the kitchen is small, it makes sense to install multifunctional furniture. A good idea would be to go for a kitchen island with in-built storage provisions. You can also buy foldable dining tables. Or, you can buy stools tucked under the counter to maximize space.

    • Choose lighting with care

Just changing the kitchen furniture or cabinets will not be enough. You have to revamp the lighting setup in the room. Using under-cabinet lighting will give the space a new look. You may also go for recessed lighting and pendant lights.

    • Go for simple layouts

If the kitchen is not large, keep the overall layout simple. An L-shaped layout works well, and a one-wall kitchen also makes sense. While choosing the layout, ensure there is enough space between the appliances and kitchen furniture.

    • Check out online and other resources

Feel free to explore useful interior design resources on the web and in magazines, too. You will surely come across some useful small kitchen redesign ideas. Choose a contender like ICO Construction & Remodeling Dallas TX for a desirable experience.

    • Buy space-saving appliances

Along with space-saving kitchen furniture, choose appliances that do not take up much space. For example, consider wall-mounted microwave ovens.

    • Add depth with accents

Just because the kitchen is not large, it does not have to be boring. You can make a few changes that add some depth to the place. Install a bold backsplash and add some bright accents. Even keeping a few small indoor plants in the kitchen adds a touch of freshness.

    • Get rid of clutter

Ensure there is no unnecessary furniture and accessories in the kitchen. Discard stuff that you no longer need. If you have appliances that are rarely used, keep them out of the countertops.

    Summing it up

Revamping a small kitchen is not hard when you plan properly. It is also necessary to hire the right kitchen remodeling companies. Go for one that has a large client base and a solid reputation. Check out their service range and customization choices.
