India is a country with a billion people who have different preferences for spending their leisure time. A large number of residents regularly visit bookmaker websites. Keep reading our research and learn what sports Indian players bet on frequently.

Cricket – first in the ranking

Cricket is considered the national sport in India. Every day, millions of locals watch the Indian Premier League matches – the most prestigious league in the country. Therefore, cricket events are in the greatest demand among punters.

The best betting sites in India are responding to this trend, offering bettors a wide range of bets on cricket matches. The lines include favorable odds, bets on key results and statistics, and exclusive offers.

    Horse racing

The second most popular sport in India is horse racing. Indians have loved these competitions since the time when the British Empire ruled India. At that time, the British opened the first racecourses in India and instilled in the population a love of horse racing.

The most famous racecourses for horse racing in India are located in Mumbai and Mahalaxmi. These arenas host prestigious tournaments, including the Hyderabad Race Club, The Royal Western India Turf Club, and the Indian Derby. The competitions attract a huge audience, offer prestigious prize funds and advertising contracts. In each race, punters from India can place a bet with increased financial limits and odds.

    Kabaddi

The exotic sport of kabaddi is very popular in the Asian region. Moreover, it was the inhabitants of India who invented the discipline. The first international tournament in this sport was hosted in Dhaka in 1985.

As the online betting industry develops, kabaddi has become one of the most popular sports among Indian bettors. Today, the Indian men’s kabaddi team holds the record for having won the most world championship titles. The team has won three titles in the standard style, six in the round-robin style, and seven sets of gold medals at the Asian Games.
