Universal Studios Fan Fest Nights Coming to Hollywood in 2025

While we don’t know a lot about the new Fan Fest Nights coming to Universal Studios Hollywood, we DO know some of the fandoms they’ll be celebrating in 2025.

“Get ready to celebrate the best of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, and Anime with your fellow fans like never before,” the Universal Studios website reads. “From the creators of Halloween Horror Nights, this all-new, after-hours event brings you into the worlds of Star Trek, Back to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons and more with immersive experiences, celebratory moments, themed food, and exclusive merchandise that takes fandom to a whole new level. Our lineup is expanding with more to be revealed.”

The thing we’re the most interested in there is Star Trek. Especially since the parent studio of the franchise, Paramount, is currently in negotiations to be sold. It’s highly unlikely Universal is looking to do that, and this is more than likely just a licensing deal.

The last time Star Trek was present in a theme park was waaaaaay back when there was Paramount Great America. It wasn’t uncommon to see Klingons in full makeup walking around as face characters.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
