Known for her ability to bring life to the most intricate characters, she left a huge mark on the hearts of millions of fans around the globe, who are now left with only her cinematic legacy.

Duvall’s life partner Dan Gilroy announced that she passed in her sleep due to complications from diabetes in her home located in Blanco, Texas. “My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us,” Gilroy wrote. “Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley,”
