    Online store on Bigcommerce: advantages and development stages

    The Bigcommerce platform is considered one of the best content management systems for online stores. Businessmen love it because it allows them to launch an online business quickly with minimal investment.

    If you are going to create a store on Bigcommerce, it is best to hire Bigcommerce developer and entrust this task to him. In this article, we will discuss this CMS and launching a business on it in more detail.

    Benefits of Bigcommerce

    Bigcommerce is a popular cloud platform for modern online stores. It uses a special SaaS model, where a supplier develops software and provides it to the customer for a fee.

    Main advantages of the platform:

    • fast page loading thanks to high-performance servers and caching technologies that ensure fast platform operation;
    • the ability to connect different payment systems, delivery services, and helpful email newsletters;
    • ease of use due to the simplicity of the control panel;
    • quick design customization using the ready-made template designer;
    • reliable data protection using the SSL protocol, which encrypts information.

    Creating an online store with a Bigcommerce

    Let us repeat that it is the best solution to create a store on Bigcommerce together with a developer. Then, you will be able to avoid mistakes at each of these stages of development:

    1. Selecting a tariff plan. The Bigcommerce system offers potential clients four tariff plans suitable for businesses with different budgets. Standard ($39/month) is the lowest-cost starter plan, ideal for small projects with a limited budget. Plus ($105/month) is suitable for a medium-sized business with a growing workload. The Pro plan ($399/month) is perfect for large companies. Enterprise is a corporate tariff where you can order any modifications that suit your business’s specifics.
    2. Account setup. It can be done using two methods. You can choose a free trial and create an online store immediately after signing up. You can also choose the second option by registering as a new user. In this case, you must provide a valid email address and website domain. You will then need to provide additional information, and immediately after that, you will be redirected to the control panel.
    3. Selecting a topic. Explore all the available theme options and choose the one that best suits your brand.
    4. Design customization. This platform’s themes are all based on the Cornerstone theme, which allows you to customize all the details by default. The system supports other themes, but their functions and settings are not available. Each theme provides multiple options, making it easy to customize the appearance of your store.
    5. Adding products. You can do this in several ways: create them in the control panel, add them via CSV import or API requests, or transfer them from another store/platform.
    6. Setting up delivery and payment options. You can add multiple payment methods: payment gateways, alternative methods, or digital wallets. For delivery, you can set the following configurations: fixed delivery price, free delivery, and cost based on the weight/amount of the order.
    7. Launching a store. All that remains is to set up your store profile, set the sales tax amount, and view the site.

    That’s all! After you complete this, you will become the owner of an online store that can bring you significant profits.
