It’s kind of amazing how table-top gaming has become such a huge, popular thing. Sure, we all remember the days of Dungeons & Dragons players getting teased for being nerds or whatever reason. But it seems like you can’t roll a d20 these days without finding fellow players and enthusiasts. Which is what brings us to today’s cool Kickstarter you should know about- ProgCore Fantasy: Dark Age of Theer.

This is NOT just your typical RPG. Described as a “sprawling multimedia fantasy experience,” ProgCore aims to create a full experience with it’s own soundtrack, animated short, and so much more. They’ve just launched a Kickstarter this morning to fund a pretty ambitious project that we think you should check out.
“We wanted to thrill the senses,” said co-creator Todd Stashwick (“12 Monkeys,” “Star Trek: Picard“), “with a book you can feel, art that delights the eye, animation to watch and hear, music to listen, a candle to smell.”

Rewards on the Kickstarter include a RPG Sourcebook with D&D 5e Conversion, a documentary style Actual Play, an original Prog Rock Soundtrack, an Animated Short, an Audiobook, a Custom Scented Candle, and more.
The aforementioned soundtrack has music from Jason Charles Miller (“Critical Role“) and Geoffrey Schumann. The actual play docu will be DMed by co-creator David Nett, and will feature players Stashwick, Anjali Bhimani (“Ms. Marvel“), Felicia Day (The Guild”), Eisner nominee Marc Bernardin (“Masters of the Universe Revelations“), Yuri Lowenthal (“Spider-Man” video games), and Dr. Drea Letamendi (The Arkham Sessions). It’ll be directed by Brian Ward (SHOUT! Factory).
There will also be an animated short set in the world of Theer. Sean Bishop will direct from a script by Stashwick and Nett, while Oscar Stashwick animates, and Bob Eggleton handles concepts and backgrounds. (Check out “Folly of Omeris!)
The story team is pretty damn impressive, including Bhimani, Jasmine Bhullar, Cecil Castellucci, Brea Grant, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Terry Matalas, Bernardin, Christopher Monfette, Charity Stashwich, Elisa Teague, and Wil Wheaton (who had this to say about the project!).
The project also boats beautiful art from Phillip Boutte Jr., Zelda Devon, Bob Eggleton, Julia Maddalina, Maia Igni, Eliot Sirota, and Oscar Stashwick.
So, as you can see, a pretty damn stacked crew. Check out ProgCore Fantasy’s Kickstarter now.
