Not only are we returning to middle-Earth in a second season of Prime Video’s “The Rings of Power,” but we also have Andy Serkis‘ upcoming “The Hunt for Gollum.” And, of course, the long-awaited anime feature, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.”
While we don’t know much about the animated film, we were treated to two new images from the upcoming project. First announced in 2021, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” will follow King of Rohan Helm Hammerhand, as well as the creation of the great keep, Helm’s Deep.

Kenji Kamiyama (“Akira,” “Ghost In The Shell”) directs from a screenplay by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (“The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance“). Philippa Boyens, Oscar winner who co-wrote “The Lord of the Rings” feature films, is consulting.
“War of the Rohirrim” is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation and New Line Cinema.
We STILL DON’T HAVE CASTING, but, hopefully that’ll happen soon.
