For many, Dubai is associated with sunny skies, white sand, scrubbers, shopping malls, technology parks, manicured gardens, and cascading fountains. Revenues from oil fields have turned into a desert in 15 years into a tourist center and a state with the most developed infrastructure. 93% of jobs in the country are occupied by foreign citizens. Even without knowing the language, you can find a place in the sun in the sunny Emirate. We present the TOP best jobs in Dubai (UAE)/

The population of the Emirates is 9.9 million people. The indigenous population is no more than 30%, the rest are migrants from Asia. Citizens of India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Lebanon, and Kazakhstan come to work, and each nationality has its sphere. Taxi drivers are most often Pakistanis, construction workers – industry, marketing and advertising – Lebanese, hotel staff – Filipinos. Considering the level of low development of migrants and the number of compatriots who vacation in Dubai all year round, it will be easy to come even without knowing the language.

The most developed sector of the economy, tourism, requires a constant influx of personnel. If there are no prejudices against working in the service sector, there will be vacancies on any site, for example, such as Laybord. Salary depends on the level of English and international education.

    Requirements for emigrants

To successfully find a job and move to the UAE, you must meet the criteria set for obtaining a work visa. It is important to consider the following criteria:

    Foreign language skills:

    1. There are no strict requirements for knowledge of Arabic.
    2. Knowledge of English is not required, but a higher level of English proficiency may open up access to more job opportunities. In case of lack of language knowledge, the level of remuneration may be lower. You can find a profession according to your requirements using https://layboard.in/vacancies/jobs-in-uae/jobs-in-dubai/speciality/carpenter.

    Appearance:

    1. There are no height or weight requirements.
    2. Attractiveness can be an advantage, especially when looking for work in a socio-cultural field where many positions are available.

    Age:

    1. Advantages for candidates aged 18 to 30 years, as well as for qualified personnel under 35 years of age.
    2. An exception is provided for applicants aged 45-50, which means that opportunities for them may be limited.

    Education:

    1. Some privileged specialties require confirmation of a diploma.
    2. For example, doctors must confirm their qualifications twice a year, since the level of medical services in the country is very high.

    Vacancies and salaries

Most vacancies are in hotels. Immigrants are popular in the fields of logistics, real estate, and construction. The most common vacancies are in restaurants, sports and leisure clubs, and shopping centers.

There is no minimum wage in the UAE. An unqualified specialist receives a minimum salary of $400, a qualified specialist – from $2,500. Local residents receive more, regardless of skills and qualifications. For example, an immigrant engineer is $3,000, while a local fire department employee is $10,000.

Table – Average level of wages for migrants by profession

    1. Taxi driver (600-800$)
    2. Waiter (600-800$)
    3. Secretary (700-1500$)
    4. Sales manager/realtor (1,500-2,000$)
    5. Stewardess, steward (1,700-2,500$)
    6. Engineer (2,500-5,000$)
    7. IT manager (1,500$ – by agreement depending on experience)
    8. System administrator (2,000 – 5,000$)
    9. Programmers (From 5,000$)

There is no income tax or business tax in the country. This policy motivates immigrants to come to work and businessmen to open offices in the country.

Culture, traditions, and rules of living in the country

The UAE is a Muslim country with strict adherence to traditions and rules of conduct. Before looking for work and moving to the country, it is important to consider the following traditions and rules:

    Clothes for women:

Women can wear any clothing, but some places, especially public beaches and public places, may have bans on miniskirts and trousers. It is important to dress appropriately, especially when visiting religious places.

    Public expressions of feelings:

Public expressions of affection such as hugging and kissing are prohibited. Any tactile contact in public places may be considered a violation of the rules.

    Alcohol sales:

Alcohol is sold only in specialized stores and bars. To purchase alcohol, an employer may require a certificate confirming permission to consume it. Public consumption of alcohol on the streets is strictly prohibited.

    Security and surveillance cameras:

In the UAE, surveillance cameras are installed in almost every corner of the city. Police respond quickly to crimes and penalties can be harsh. The UAE is considered one of the safest countries in the world and compliance with laws is a priority.

    Censorship on social networks:

There is high censorship in the country on publications in instant messengers and social networks. It is forbidden to scold, write negative reviews about the country, spread gossip and photographs of violent acts, fires and fights. The Emirates are trying to maintain a positive image and take care of positive content among the population.

Compliance with these traditions and rules of conduct is mandatory when living and working in the UAE. Understanding and respecting a country’s cultural characteristics will help you adapt and avoid problems with the law and society.

    Features of labor legislation

The working day according to the UAE Labor Code is 8 hours. Working week 6 days. Social and cultural enterprises sometimes increase the working day by 1 hour.

The day off is usually Friday. Additional payment for overtime work during the day is 125% of the salary, at night – 150% or, in agreement with the employer, take time off.

The receiving party not only handles paperwork, but also pays relocation expenses – travel, accommodation, food and medical insurance. The probationary period lasts up to 6 months, and dismissal is possible within 1 day if the candidate does not comply.

Upon expiration of the probationary period, either party has the right to terminate the contract by notifying the other party 30 calendar days in advance. Upon dismissal, compensation is paid within the framework of one salary for each year worked.

There are no trade unions. If conflicts arise, the Immigration Service and the Ministry of Labor will sort it out. Important! The country has a guarantee system for immigrants, which guarantees that they will receive money if the employer is a fraud.
