There are few things as certain as a key film franchise never ending. Even more so when it’s “Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic World.” So, it should come as no surprise that yet-another-entry in the dinosaur saga is coming. Its strange knowing it’ll be a ‘reboot’ of the most recent films, but we’re curious to see what Garth Edwards does with it.

That’s what brings us to today’s news of a possible star for the project. Originally, “Deadpool” helmer David Leitch was going to be in the hot seat for the next film. But mere weeks after he’d been announced, it was revealed he would no longer be involved. Shortly thereafter, Edwards (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “The Creator“) was reported as taking over.
Word on the Tinseltown streets this week indicates former Marvel Studios star Scarlett Johansson may lead the gestating film. We do know David Koepp is penning the script, but other than that, the project is kind of a mystery.
Obviously Johansson is no stranger to big, legacy franchises, so this would be an interesting movie to see her in. The most recent thing we’ve seen her in was a recent “Saturday Night Live” sketch, following President Biden’s State of the Union speech.
We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
