Ok so it does make SOME amount of sense that yet-another Steven King adaptation would get some kind of update today, the spookiest day of the year. Warner Bros. Pictures’ long-gestating “Salem’s Lot” reboot did premiere a trailer during CinemaCon 2022, and we expected some kind of update on a release by now.
Most industry insiders were expecting at least another trailer, and maybe news of a theatrical release, likely during….you know…Halloween? But, that obviously didn’t happen.
According to Variety, word on the Hollywood street is that the film is now headed to streaming on WB’s MAX. It’s worth noting that Warner Bros. Pictures did respond to the story, saying “no decision has been made about the film’s future distribution plans.”
“Salem’s Lot” (2023) was directed by Gary Dauberman, who worked on the recent “IT” films. This version stars Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, Spencer Treat Clark, Cade Woodward, Debra Christofferson, and Pilou Asbaek (“Game of Thrones“).
We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.

Mary Anne Butler
Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
