We all love Thanksgiving. A day of overindulgence, amazing smells, and passing out on the couch for several hours. But have you ever wanted to be tiny? Winding your way around the kitchen fixin’s? Santa Claus, Indiana theme park Holiday World is making that a reality with their brand new “Good Gravy” roller coaster. A slingshot-style coaster that sends you through a plethora of favorite items from Thanksgiving dinner.

Obviously you can’t have a ride with gravy in the title without having reference to the beloved sauce somewhere. Guests will be loaded into gravy boat-shaped carts and launched at 37 miles an hour through a giant cranberry sauce tin, whizzing past a giant whisk and rolling pin and a box of stuffing. The ride will then reach a 77 foot peak that will then send them reeling back the way they came. There is a height requirement of 38-inches, however. Fine for most 3 year-olds, but should your tots be a little below, not to worry! Lauren Crosby, current owner of four generations, claims to have taken everything into account.

“We put the Guest experience at the center of this design. We took every detail seriously,” Crosby said. “We added stroller parking, and a play area for kids who aren’t quite big enough to ride yet, and benches with shade for the family members who prefer to watch. The best detail is that the queue building is air-conditioned, and themed elaborately to Thanksgiving at Grandma’s house.”

Construction is already taking place, with plans to open the ride on May 11th, 2024.
