When you were a kid, you always had a playhouse of some kind. Whether it was a carboard box, or one of those Play-Skool plastic houses. A safe-haven to let imagination run wild. However tiny, children imagine their playhouses to be opulent mansions, princess castles, and the like. Well, Little Cottage Company wants to make those imaginary dreams a reality. The company makes some of the most impressive playhouses you’ve ever seen. Though there are great alternatives, too.

Sara’s Victorian Mansion DIY Playhouse Kit

Perfect for a massive back yard –

Is your child the reincarnation of a Victorian Prince or Princess? Well, then look no further than this 10-foot tall mansion for your little one. It’s not just opulent on the outside. This massive playhouse is two-stories with multiple rooms. It’s practically a backyard living space. Playhouse? This is just a house. Though at an affordable price and without running water or electricity. Though a crafty hand could change that pretty quickly. Priced between roughly $12,700 and $17,450 depending on size, the playhouse comes with everything that you need to build it. You can even order it on Amazon right now!

    Victorian DIY Playhouse Kit (Small)

Cottagecore thy name is Victorian Playhouse

For those who don’t have a fat wallet to spend on a literal house for your child, Little Cottage Company has the more standard size and affordable pricing for a playhouse. And it’s just as adorable. Cozy and quaint, this little Victorian cottage is perfect for children to have tea parties and a space to call their own. The smallest size is rather less palm-sweat inducing at $2,962, though you’ll still be paying 10K for the largest. But this cute little house with its gingerbread trim makes up in charm what it lacks in size.

    The Firehouse

Luckily, that hose isn’t attached to anything. Think of the water bill! –

Little Cottage Company isn’t just in the business of pink and frilly playhouses, either. For the more robust and adventurous rugrat, they’ve got plenty to choose from. Including this impressive firehouse. The delightful structure comes with its very own firehouse bell and double-doors in the front. There’s is a more adult-sized door in the back, for easier entry. Something to note about these structures, they come primed, but not painted. Nor do they come with shingles or a drip-edge. Customers will have to provide that themselves. Though, if you’ve got the dough to purchase such an opulent playhouse ($4,526 – $5,794), you probably won’t mind throwing a bit of money at the hardware store.

    The Craftsman Playhouse

A slide like that is hard to resist, even for an adult! –

Naturally, you have to put the “play” in playhouse. Can’t to wrong with a slide! Which is why the Craftsman playhouse is the perfect structure for your miniature thrill-seeker. And this isn’t just your garden variety two-foot toddler slide. This baby’s got a second-story loft to the balcony on which the slide is attached. The perfect quick exit strategy. Only a meagre $7,648 – $10,272.

    Stratford Schoolhouse

Pretend school is in session! —

This one is perfect for your aspiring young educators. The schoolhouse is the perfect size to house several pint-sized friends. Here your little ones can pretend to run a school, or just have a perfect place to learn everything about nothing and lounge with friends. Including a functioning bell in its roof to let everyone know that school is in session! This one runs up a pretty penny of $5,086 – $6,620.

    Pennfield Cottage Playhouse

Porchside teatime is a must! —

Now this comfy little cottage has got to be one of their most charming. With a built in porch for evening relaxation and get-togethers, this is the perfect hangout for your kids. Did we mention that many of the home-style playhouses come with windowbox planters? Cause they do! Which allows your kids to learn the value of caring for plants as well as increasing the cozy aesthetic. Priced at $6,148 – $8,934.

    Little Cottage Chapel

For the little priest or devotee —

Little Cottage Company doesn’t want to leave anyone out in their selections. Which is why this little chapel is available for your devoted little ones. Or perhaps following in priestly footsteps, they get to practice upkeep of their own little chapel. A stark statement in one’s backyard, to be sure. Priced at $5,086 – $6,618.

    Grand Portico Mansion

This is classier than some luxury homes! —

Stand back for the Cadillac of playhouses! This two-story beauty is so stately, it might make your own home pale in comparison. This is definitely for a discerning little human. Playhouse? Please. This is a play mansion and don’t you forget it. This is the sort of thing you see a freshly-washed hot wheels convertible sitting in front of. Better get ready to save heavily, though. This one’s a whopping $23,798.00. Certainly an item for those who spare no expense on their kids.

    Gingerbread Cottage

For the fairy princess in you family –

This quaint little bungalow is perfect for fairytale lovers everywhere. With a heart-shaped window overlooking a loft, it’s cozy and delightful. A gently curved roof and gingerbread trim makes this the perfect place for your little ones to daydream. Filled with cozy pillows and favorite books, it’s the perfect place to let imagination run wild. Price tag $4,900 – $8,244.

    Cape Cod Playhouse

Beachside fish and chips, please! —

This colonial number reminds one of fish and chips enjoyed by the seaside. Gravel crunching under foot of a lovely little bay. A perfect hideaway for the those who appreciate a more minimalist style of architecture. An optional loft makes makes for a great space to curl up and watch the world go by through one of three windows. Ranging from very small to quite large, this price ranges from $3,172 – $11,158.

The Little Cottage Company doesn’t just do playhouses, either. They also do specialty structures and sheds. From tool and garden sheds to 360 windowed gazebos. And all come as kits that boast easy assembly and exceptional instructions to ensure you build it right the first time.
