    Talking Heads “Stop Making Sense” Gets 4K 40th Anniversary Release!

    We are SO EXCITED to share this news! Thanks to Oscars darling studio A24, we’re getting an official 4K restoration and theatrical release of Jonathan Demme‘s incredible Talking Heads concert film, “Stop Making Sense.” The release is to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary.

    The announcement promo released this morning is absolutely charming. David Byrne heads to a dry cleaners, to pick up something that’s “been there awhile.” What is it you ask, why IT’S HIS ICONIC BIG SUIT!!

    The original film was shot over three nights at the Hollywood Pantages in 1983. It features Talking Heads members Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison, along with P-Funk Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry, and Edna Holt.

    “There was a band. There was a concert. This must be the movie,” Talking Heads said about the news.

    A24 lists the theatrical rerelease as “coming soon.” We’ll let you know when it gets an actual release date.
