5 Ways PDFs Can Be Used to Improve Digital Learning

Most college students waste hours of study time looking for documents, handwriting class notes, and organizing study materials. However, college life doesn’t have to be so difficult.

Documents are quite frequently used in schools for homework, assignments, and reports, but it shouldn’t force you to use a printer and carry around a heavy backpack across your campus.

Learning a few simple college hacks can make studying with documents much more easier and fun.

    Taking Notes During Class

Reading material can be a lot more difficult to interact with these days now that most source material is digital and in PDF format. But buying physical textbooks and literature can be expensive and take up a lot of space. So what can you do?

Most PDF tools have annotation features that allow you to mark up PDF pages with reminders and tips as you read through them. They provide plenty of options like sticky notes, comments, and text underlining to help you learn more effectively.

    Making Presentations Readable

Most educators prepare and use visually appealing presentations to explain new topics and engage their students. However, studying using presentations is quite a hassle. Instead, you can convert the presentation file into a PDF. This allows you to create easily accessible and standard-format learning materials from a presentation.

It is far more convenient to use for studying PDFs rather than PowerPoint presentations. This way, you can be certain that the text, images, and format do not get lost completely.

    Creating a Digital Study Guide

In addition to turning the presentations from your teachers into easily readable study material, you can also create a study guide out of all the annotated pages. Pages from the physical textbooks you’ve purchased can also be added.

To create PDFs, simply scan the pages with your iPhone or capture scans with your Android device. Then, you can choose to keep what you want and remove any pages that you don’t need or want to save as separate PDFs.

    Editing Documents with Ease

You’ll likely be asked to submit assignments in PDF format by your teachers since it’s easier to read and mark, but what do you do when you need to edit content in it?

Despite the long-held misconception, PDF documents can be edited and modified quite easily using a PDF editor, like Soda pdf, or by converting it into a different file format. Using a PDF editor or converter, you’ll be able to:

    • Move, resize, or delete PDF pages
    • Create new PDFs
    • Edit textual errors

    Saving Webpages As PDFs

It’s very often that students come across a webpage that provides them with useful content and information. But there’s no way to download it as a resource, the most they can do is save it as a screenshot, which is quite unreliable and messy.

The ideal solution to this is to use an HTML-to-PDF converter and fill your study guide with helpful web content. All you need to do is copy and paste the site’s URL into an online converter to turn it into a PDF.
