According to a local newsoutlet sourcing eye witnesses, a person at Universal Studios Hollywood was rushed to the hospital following a “possible drowning” call. ABC7 sites the emergency call happened at or around the Waterworld stunt show exhibit.

Additional witnesses (mostly Twitter users) have indicated it was one of the stunt performers from the show.

    CPR was administered.

Happened towards the end of the show and they stopped as soon as they realized. Looked like one of the performers. Praying for his well being and recovery.

    Update:

ABC7 has since updated their report to include additional eyewitness statements. Reportedly, the performer was “on one of the towers, and as part of the act, fell into the water. [One of the] other workers noticed he was missing and went in the water to pull him up.”

The stunt show does include several high-tower falls as part of the act. We hope the performer recovers.

“Details surrounding the event are under review. As always, safety is our top priority in our day-to-day operations,” a spokesperson for Universal Studios theme parks said.
