Burger King Introduces Ghost Pepper Whopper for Halloween

What’s black and orange and HOT all over? That would be Burger King‘s new Ghost Pepper Whopper, coming this Halloween. In celebration of the season of ghouls and goblins, the fast food chain is releasing a new, themed Whopper combo meal. A patty sits resplendent on a bright orange bun scattered with black sesame seeds. Dressed with ghost pepper cheese, spicy queso, and crispy jalapenos, this is one spicy sammich!

Spending this Halloween is projected to return to pre-pandemic levels. A record of $10.6 billion is projected to be spent on decorations, costumes, candy, and — of course — food. Consumer spending is returning to pre-pandemic levels. So Burger King is joining other fast food chains in jumping on the love for the ghostly holiday. Alongside them is Chipotle, bringing back their “Booritto” deal. And McDonald’s is bringing back the beloved Boo Buckets for all the wee trick-or-treaters.

Adding to the Halloween fun, the Home of the Whopper is coining itself “The Home of the Ghosts.” And they’re giving customers the chance to become paranormal investigators. A promotional deal can be accessed through BK’s app that will net you a two Whopper deal. Users can access the “electromagnetic field ghost detector” on their phones to hunt for paranormal activity in their homes. Most likely a little augmented reality game giving you access to the promotion.

As with every seasonal promotion, the Ghost Pepper Whopper won’t be around forever! It’ll be available to purchase from October 17th to the 31st. Go hunt some ghosts and find your way to some spooky, spicy Hallow-eats!
