Time To Change Your Standard Office Chairs To Sit-Stand Desk

The standard office chairs are the type of chairs that are designed for use in the office while sitting down. The one uses the distinctive load-bearing legs that are positioned under the chair’s seat. They have a set of wheels that facilitate mobility and adjustable height.

For the layman, sit-stand desks are the desks, which allow you to work while standing. They are height adjustable, so you can lower or raise the height that suits the user. Also, they’re easy to use and are healthier in the long run. There is a need to change the standard office chairs to the sit-stand desk because this desk allows the office workers to stretch their limbs and stand rather than sit down for hours while working.

It is time to change your standard office chairs to sit-stand desks because of the following reasons:

    1. It reduces back pain

Persistent back pain is the normal complaint of most workers working on the standard office chairs. The sit-stand desk reduces back and necks pain to about 54%. This has increased and now four out of five adults complain of back pain during their lives.

Standing all day is uncomfortable for most; this is where the sit-stand desk is required. If your back is uncomfortable or tired, adjust to this desk because it offers excellent flexibility, so you do not have to sit for long.

    2. Burn calories

In the office, people will have a similar workload and may not take extra breaks or use the stairs but the elevator. The difference is that they get up from the standard office chair in the afternoon when going for lunch.

The sit-stand desk is important because it helps you burn more calories in just one day’s work. While that calorie intake might not make a change to some, a reduction of 850 calories per week can help to reduce weight loss. A 30-minute at sit-stand desk can be enough.

    3. Lowers the blood sugar

The blood sugar level rises after a meal. Typically, those workers who work on the sit-stand desk experience a lower spike in their blood sugar level. In the same way, those who use the standard office chair will experience higher spikes. Typically, the same observation applies to people who sit and stand alternately, as opposed to people who do their work while sitting down.

    4. Increases focus

The sit-stand desk helps to increase productivity because it made people more alert and focused while at work than sitting on the standard office chair. At least seven out of ten people feel more focused when working at these desks compared to the standard office chairs. The sit-stand desk forces the circulatory system of the body to work harder since it has to maintain the blood flow in a larger area.

    5. Reduces stress

Many people in the offices experience stress because most offices have standard office chairs that offer very little flexibility and comfort to employees. These chairs contribute to stress increase and reduce job satisfaction. However, sit-stand desks are preferred because they reduce stress by allowing workers to stretch tired muscles and maintain blood circulation.

    6. Boost energy

Some sedentary non-activities, such as sitting for long hours, are associated with depression and anxiety. This means that sitting on this desk and moving around an office help promote positive mental health and boost the energy level. As a bonus, it is time to change the sit-stand desks because they raise the energy levels.

    7. Improves the job performance

Using the sit-stand desk during the daily office tasks may seem awkward initially, but it is essential because it improves job performance. Once you get used to doing the work with this desk, you can improve your working performance.

The sit-stand desk is believed to improve job performance by about 45% compared to the standard office chairs. Also, you tend to work more efficiently and harder because you generally want to get things done so that you can sit back and relax.

    Conclusion

It is time to change your standard office chairs to the sit-stand desk because this desk is designed to keep you alert at work so that you can focus on your work in the best possible way. The longer you sit on the standard office chair, the more you will lose your posture, leading to periods of neck and back pain.

The sit-stand desks are aimed to minimize physical discomfort and fatigue, thereby maximizing efficiency. Also, these desks are becoming more common as employers strive to improve the wellness in the offices and help to lose weight, increase productivity, improve energy, reduce back pain, and improve mood
