    What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an essential part of Chinese medicine practice and an alternative form of medicine. In acupuncture, thin needles are inserted in unique points on different body parts, according to the pain type. Acupuncturists believe that the process of inserting needles can raise the natural ability of the body to heal. Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, muscles, spinal cord, immune system, and brain.

    Acupuncture treatments

By applying acupuncture needles or placing them in particular locations on the skin, the patient can benefit from several routines used in certain positions that address painful and tense spots that will ultimately provide pain relief and improved circulation flow in their bodies.

Based on the patient’s specific case and degree of inflammation, we may begin by treating acupuncture points that reduce inflammation first and any trauma symptoms such as pain when moving certain joints. Later on, we may also work with you to give you some fitness ideas at home to improve your posture as part of your overall health goals. You’ll probably want to try our shoulder exercises for a quick start!

Many types of chronic pain have been treated successfully with acupuncture in clinical trials, including:

Facial Paralysis: Acupuncture is excellent in facial paralysis or Bell’s Palsy. In this case, massages and exercises are done to treat facial immobility.

Injuries after accidents:  Acupuncture is highly recommended after MVA. It is practical to treat different injuries, whiplash—post-traumatic stress syndrome, swelling, and relieving pain.

Acupuncture treatment for shoulder pain: Acupuncture can help treat pain related to the shoulder and other aches when muscular tension and stress contribute to the patient’s physical health.

Insomnia: Acupuncture is used to treat sleep disturbances. It stimulates the body’s natural ability to go into a deep sleep and allows relaxation.

Pregnancy: You can get acupuncture for pregnancy as well. Symptoms like back pain and nausea can be treated with time tested methods, giving relief to those that suffer from especially bad morning sickness.

Thyroid treatment: Thyroid acupuncture aims to restore your body’s energy/hormonal balance and regularize hormone secretion from the brain and the thyroid gland. Acupuncture can help whether it is a hypothyroid or hyperthyroid condition.

Hemorrhoid treatment: Acupuncture gives outstanding results in healing hemorrhoid and anal fissures. Some people avoid it due to exposure to intimate parts, but acupuncture can be done while one is fully dressed. No private body parts need to be exposed or punctured during this procedure.

Headaches or migraine: After finding the root cause of headaches or migraines, we treat the appropriate point acupuncture treatment by needling the hands and feet.

Fibromyalgia: Acupuncture speeds up the release of the body’s ability to relieve pain, reduce in-inflammation and balance the mood, and has excellent results in Fibromyalgia.

Some other examples of chronic conditions such as arthritis, chronic fatigue, carpal tunnel syndrome, and bursitis are also treated with acupuncture.

In what way does acupuncture work?

Chinese medicine believes that health results from creating a balance. Qi is the life force that courses through the meridians in the body and is believed to be responsible for all aspects of human health. Illness occurs when there’s an imbalance of this energy flow. According to studies, the insertion of needles on these particular points not only helps to stimulate body abilities but also enhances blood circulation in those areas and relieves pain. It is recommended to receive acupuncture treatment once or twice a week for chronic conditions. If you’re looking for a way to help you with chronic pain, a new way to treat your insomnia, or if you are looking for a way to boost your immune system, you should consider visiting an acupuncturist. Acupuncture is a safe and natural way to treat your ailments and help you feel the way you want! If you want to know more, you can find more information by visiting https://acupunctureedmonton.com/.
